Thirteen years ago this week, I was preparing to release MAID FOR LOVE, the fifth book I published as an indie author. MFL, set on a fictional version of my beloved Block Island, RI, had been shopped all over the place, and was rejected by every editor who read it. ![]()

I now see those rejections as among the greatest blessings in my life. Gansett Island has been the gift that keeps on giving. Yesterday, I released the preorder for the 27th book, and I still have big plans for Gansett!![]()
